Principal desk

Dear Rajagiri St. Chavara Family,

Greetings to each one of you

I have the honor and proud privilege of addressing you all as the new principal of Rajagiri St Chavara public school. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your children to Rajagiri St. Chavara family. Teaching and learning has undergone a paradigm shift in the recent times and we at Rajagiri school are striving to do the best for our students. We want our students to experience the new transition very smoothly. We believe every child is a valued member of our school and encourage them to strive for academic excellence along with the overall development of their individual potential and talent to the full. The driving force behind our outcomes are based on the knowing of our students – their needs, character and wellbeing.

Teaching is not a profession but a calling and not everybody gets the opportunity to influence lives positively as a teacher gets. The staff in our school are passionate teachers who create passionate learners and future leaders….and the influence is carried on. Association with our parents is of the prime importance to us and we will always lend a listening ear to our parents’ community. We create a very good partnership with parents in support of their children’s learning and personal development. We also believe that good educational leadership supports continuous improvement.

Our students are provided with various opportunities to equip them with all the skills required in a challenging dynamic world. The Student   Parliament, House activities, Club activities and the Prefectorial Body of our school provides a platform for  students to develop effective leadership and team work skills.  Through the RCPS Grievance Committee, the students  and parents get an opportunity to voice various issues, opinions and suggestions and thus help in the further progress and growth of the school. Successful inclusive education happens   at RCPS,  primarily through accepting, understanding, and attending to student differences and diversity, which can include physical, cognitive, academic, social, and emotional. Inquiry Based Learning and Experiential Learning are the two main methods of inclusion .  It’s an encouraging endeavour that helps students identify their talents and interests and gives them a chance to hone their skills by devoting  One Period  during school hours . We incorporate Computer Assisted Learning Strategies and Innovative Teaching Methods  in order to make children active learners.  The classrooms operate on the premise that,  students with disabilities are as fundamentally competent as students without disabilities. Therefore, at RCPS, all  challenging students participate in their classroom along with their  peer group.

When parents are involved in their child’s learning , children do better. Parental involvement is thus a key factor for school improvement. The School Management Committee [ SMC]  and  Mother SMC offer a way of enabling parents to have a voice within schools. RCPS works in a genuine partnership with parents, have found that this can have a transformational effect on school culture by strengthening the feelings of ownership and commitment of the local community.

Rajagiri Caritas Services help to allocate our children to become socially responsible efficient members of our community by using strategies such as value orientation, moral  and spiritual education, public speaking  programs  and charity services  in a democratic climate. It is our desire to help students  to meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an inclusive learning environment. In order to realize that, we try our  best to promote growth by employing creativity, stressing the importance of education as well as giving our  students the freedom to think and explore knowledge.

Our ultimate goal is to set a stage for students to explore every opportunity to utilize the authentic resources given by RAJAGIRI  St. Chavara CMI  School Trust   under the leadership of C M I Congregation to accomplish the dreams of St. Chavara Kuriakose Elias  with a futuristic vision .

Thanking you

Fr. JAISON PARAPPILLY CMI
